Can't Delete Blackberry Email

Problem: Unable to delete blackberry email from device.

Solution:

Quick Diagnostics
(1) Try removing the battery and reinserting it after 30 seconds.
(2) Try loggging into the BIS via the web. From the home page, select Empty Deleted Items. This often resolves problems but if there is nothing in the deleted items,
(3) On the device, try going to Message > Options > Email reconciliation > trackwheel > purge deleted email

Long Haul
(4) Per KB-04470 on Blackberry.com, the symptoms suggest that the message list index is corrupt and the OS is unable to locate the message in the index for delete.

Backup the device and clear the device message database

Create a Backup:
a. Open Blackberry Dewsktop Maanger and select Backup and Restore
b. Click the Backup button. Save your backup file in a folder that you can access later
c. Click Save. The backup process completes.

Clear the device message database:
a. From the Backup and Restore window, select Advanced
b. From the Handheld Database list, highlight the Messages database and click Clear
c. Click OK when prompted with a warning message. The device message database is erased from the device.

Restore the messages to the handheld.
